About Mactan Cebu International Airport & the new terminal 2
Mactan Cebu International Airport forms the second largest airport in the Philippines. The airport has a fantastic new terminal which is about 50,000 sq. It includes a world-class passenger terminal building which has the capacity of holding approximately 8 million passengers annually. The new terminal is designated to cater for both the domestic and international operations. The most outstanding thing that comes with the airport is the lightless roof. The project is in Region VII – Central Visayas.
The airport serves mainly the famous Cebu Island. The surrounding areas include the four central provinces in the region; these include Bohol, Cebu, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor. The main cities surrounding the area include Bais, Bayawan, Bogo, Canlaon, Carcar, Cebu City, and Danao.
The new terminal will increase the tourist attraction because of its new routes and direct flights between Cebu and Main touristic points around the world. Most commonly, the destinations include Southeast Asia, Australia, and Asia.
Besides, tourism is projected to increase since the new terminals offer travel opportunities to islands in the central Philippines. For instance, the new terminal has already established routes to Mactan Island through the launch of new flight routes through the seaplane.
Amazingly, the terminal is expected to be the first resort-airport in the Philippines.
